arthrofilm is an independent film production company founded by James Owen in 2015. With a focus on narrative fiction. We are currently in post-production on our first feature film BITE, a horror thriller, with an expected release date in early 2019.

 

Our second feature,Vanguard is a British psychological thriller with the backing of a Hollywood Executive Producer. A proof of concept teaser was completed in November 2016 and we are due to go into production in 2019.

Our short film slate includes 3Wishes, JaffaCakes, Lifecycles, Under the Bed and Behemoth. We have also collaborated on the world war II action drama Suicide Platoon commissioned by Sony UK for television, a comedy short entitled Burying The Mother-in-Law, a zombie apocalyptic short film, Damned Nation, based on a screenplay re-written by James Owen called Gravida 34. More recently we have supported Osiko Films on a very exciting project called Freeze Me.

arthrofilm have also been involved in several promotional films for Sony UK and have produced some promotional films for businesses in Oxfordshire.

Independent filmmaker and founder of arthrofilm, James is also knee surgeon in his spare time.

Simon is the founder of Shout Loud Films, based in London and the Midlands, and has collaborated on many of arthrofilm's projects.

TOM CRITCH

Founding member of the Fringe Theatre Collective Writers LABB & alumnus of the Everyman Theatres Young Writers Programme. Tom's work has produced several commissioned screenplays, including BITE.

Co-founded of Sitting Duck Media and previously one of the UK's top session musicians Simon has a wealth of experience as a composer and sound designer.

Trevor started professional photographer at 17 Working as a military photographer in the Queen’s regiment he travelled extensively including the Middle East and South America and later worked as a journalistic photographer.
